I had the honor to speak at the Top Business and Marketing Conference for Physical Therapists last May at Clearwater Beach, FL, Smart Success PT Live. This was by far and hands down the best physical therapy conference I’ve ever been to, and I’m not just saying that because I helped put on the event.

The idea started with my good friend and “success partner” Greg Todd, who originally planned to bring in the dozen students he had in his course for a live weekend version. We started talking and he asked if I wanted to join him and of course I said YES!. Then naturally we brought the idea up with Paul Gough, and the next thing we knew we had nearly 100 people attend and 15 people join us for our extended 2 day mastermind event.

It was an amazing event with guest speakers and about a dozen of my CashPT Blueprint and mastermind students in attendance. A handful of people even said to me on Friday night, the 1st night before any of the content was delivered, that they had already got what they came for. The community of people in attendance was amazing and what really made this event special, not just because it was at the beach

And guess what? There was not a single CEU offered!

Creating value for patients is vital in today’s healthcare market place, especially when you run a cash-based practice like we do. This lack of value, or even individualization, is what is creating lots of dissatisfaction in healthcare today. When is the last time you called your MD’s office for a visit and the 1st thing they asked is “what’s your name?” and “what’s going on that you’re looking for an appointment?” instead of “what’s your date of birth?” and “who is your insurance?”

To provide value for our patients, we must create a patient experience that they can’t get anywhere else. Three vital aspects of a valuable patient experience include: listening to our patient’s story, touching them where it hurts and empowering our patients to make a change in their life.
