The importance of knowing the “Why” behind taking action: part 1 from SSHC Live!

There are two big problems that I’ve seen people encounter during my coaching career. Health care professionals are not looking towards future possibilities and potential or are feeling stuck because insurance is declining payments and you can’t generate more income working for someone else. Physical therapists aren’t dreaming, planning, or setting big enough goals. Then the other big problem is people don’t take action because they think they’re going to fail. They think that if they do, they will look stupid.

If you consider different tracks your business could take three years into the future, making a change now is much easier than making a change two years from now. Small actions steps now can pay huge dividends in the future. Watch the video above to see how I diagram this out. Changing lines now can dramatically impact where you end up three years from now.

Business is not like school. We’re not looking for A’s in business, B plus is what we’re looking for. The quickest thing that’s going to kill your business is perfection and so we say that 80% is good enough. It doesn’t need to be perfect to work because now that you’re out of school and 100 percent perfection is no longer the goal.

The people that get the best results, in my experience coaching, are quick to take action, quick to ask for help, quick to share. But it really boils down to taking action and knowing “why”, because if you don’t know your “why”, that’s when you sit on the fence of indecision. If you don’t have a clear idea of why something is important to you, then it’s easy to lose focus and sight of your goals. Supporting other people is what gets me up every day and that’s what got me here.
