What’s Your ROI on Time?

My coach, Bedros, asked me an amazing question the other day. He said, “What’s your ROI on your lifestyle and time?”

Today I wanted to chat a little bit about what this means to me and how important it is to focus on not just monetary success, but on time freedom as well.

There are a lot of things out there that as a business owner are unsatisfactory because you don’t get a return on your investment right away. It’s the same with time ROI. You need to be looking down the road.

In 2019, I spent upwards of 80 days on vacation with my family and around 30 days on business trips.

Now’s the time for you too to look back and see the time you put into your business, into your relationships and into your life. If you didn’t get the result you wanted, do something different in 2020.

If all you do is work, I understand. I love business. But it’s also important to have experiences. Success isn’t getting to retirement, so don’t wait. Retirement is a mindset.

I can pick up my kids from school; I can come into work late; I can work out seven days a week. I can do all those things and my business still runs. And when I look back, I see not only am I measuring growth in revenue, but I’m also measuring how much time I spent with my family. So, if I can grow 17% and spend 200% more time with my family, that’s a huge ROI.
